Thundercat is the stage name of American bassist, singer and songwriter Stephen Bruner, who was born in Los Angeles in 1984. He plays funk, jazz and soul, and is known for the albums Drunk and It Is What It Is, as well as the songs “Them Changes” and “Dragonball Durag.” Thundercat performed at Coachella in 2016 and recorded a Tiny Desk Concert for NPR the following year. In 2022 he played stadiums as a support act on Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Global Stadium Tour.
Channel Tres is an American singer, rapper, producer and DJ from Compton, California, known for delivering a low baritone over house rhythms and West Coast hip-hop. His 2018 debut single “Controller” introduced the sound developed on the Channel Tres EP, followed by tracks including “Topdown” and the album Head Rush. In 2019, Channel Tres opened for Robyn on dates of her Honey Tour, bringing his dance-focused set to theatres and concert halls. His later festival appearances included Coachella and Barcelona’s Primavera Sound.
