Tiken Jah Fakoly in Buenos Aires

Tiken Jah Fakoly is an Ivorian singer and songwriter, born in Odienné in 1968, who performs politically engaged roots reggae. He became known for songs including “Le pays va mal” and “Plus rien ne m’étonne,” and for albums such as Mangercratie, Françafrique and Coup de gueule, addressing inequality, African politics and the legacy of colonialism. In 2005, Tiken Jah Fakoly performed at Africa Live in Dakar, a concert project organized around the fight against malaria. His later European festival appearances included Spain’s Rototom Sunsplash.
