Tom Astor in Limbach-Oberfrohna

Tom Astor is a German country singer, songwriter and producer who was born in Schmallenberg in 1943. After beginning his recording career in schlager, he established a German-language country repertoire led by “Hallo, guten Morgen Deutschland” and “Junger Adler.” Tom Astor has performed at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, a central venue in American country music. He also toured Germany with Johnny Cash, bringing his trucker songs and country material to audiences alongside a musician with whom he also recorded.
