Tom McRae in Coupar Angus

Tom McRae is an English singer-songwriter, born in Chelmsford in 1969, whose music draws on folk, alternative rock and piano-led pop. His self-titled debut album earned a Mercury Prize nomination; “The Boy with the Bubblegun,” “You Cut Her Hair” and “End of the World News (Dose Me Up)” are among his best-known songs. Later albums include Just Like Blood and All Maps Welcome. Tom McRae toured his debut in clubs and theatres, then took Just Like Blood and All Maps Welcome on headline dates around Britain and continental Europe. He has performed both solo and with The Standing Band, while recurring winter concerts became a distinct part of his live calendar, including Christmas shows at Union Chapel in London.
