Tommy Castro And The Painkillers is an American blues-rock and soul-blues band led by guitarist and singer Tommy Castro, who was born in San Jose, California, in 1955. The group’s catalog includes The Devil You Know, Method to My Madness, Stompin’ Ground and the blues narrative A Bluesman Came to Town. The Painkillers became Tommy Castro’s touring band in 2012, following his long run fronting the Tommy Castro Band. Their road work was documented on Killin’ It Live, and they have performed at the recurring Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise, where Tommy Castro has also presented collaborative blues-revue sets.
