Trio in Hanau

Trio was a German new-wave band formed in Großenkneten in 1979 by Stephan Remmler, Gert Krawinkel and Peter Behrens. Part of the Neue Deutsche Welle movement, the group reduced rock and pop to clipped guitar, sparse drums, simple keyboards and deadpan vocals. Its best-known recording is “Da Da Da,” while the self-titled debut album also included “Anna – Lassmichrein Lassmichraus.” In 1982, Trio performed for Rockpalast at Hamburg’s Markthalle, documenting the group’s minimalist concert format. Peter Behrens played a compact drum setup standing up, Gert Krawinkel handled guitar, and the vocals, keyboards and toy instruments belonged to Stephan Remmler.
