Twisted Sister in Gary

Twisted Sister is an American heavy metal band formed in 1972 in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey, and later based on Long Island, New York. Its best-known lineup featured vocalist Dee Snider, guitarists Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda, bassist Mark Mendoza and drummer A.J. Pero. The band is known for the albums Under the Blade, You Can't Stop Rock 'n' Roll and Stay Hungry, which includes “We're Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock.” Twisted Sister spent years performing on the local club circuit before its records reached a wider audience. The group later reunited for a post-9/11 benefit concert in New York City, then toured internationally and performed at European festivals. Dee Snider fronted the band on its farewell tour in 2016.
