About Wheatus
Wheatus are an American alternative rock and power-pop band formed in Northport, New York, in 1995 by singer, guitarist and songwriter Brendan B. Brown. Their self-titled debut album produced their best-known song, “Teenage Dirtbag,” as well as a cover of Erasure’s “A Little Respect.”
Wheatus played the Reading and Leeds Festivals in 2001 as “Teenage Dirtbag” found a wide audience, then returned to Britain for further club and theatre tours. In 2023, the Dirtbags Across America tour took the band back through clubs across the United States.
