About Will Johnson
Will Johnson is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist associated with the music scene in Denton, Texas. He is best known as the frontman of the indie-rock bands Centro-matic and South San Gabriel, and his solo catalogue includes the albums Vultures Await and Wire Mountain.
In 2006, he toured as part of the Undertow Orchestra, performing in a shared stage ensemble with David Bazan, Vic Chesnutt and Mark Eitzel. He later played drums on the 2009 Monsters of Folk tour, which visited theatres including New York’s Beacon Theatre. In 2012, he joined Jay Farrar, Yim Yames and Anders Parker for concerts built around Woody Guthrie’s lyrics under the name New Multitudes.
