William Elliott Whitmore in Orlando

William Elliott Whitmore is an American singer-songwriter from Lee County, Iowa, who plays spare folk and country blues on banjo and guitar. His deep, weathered voice is central to albums including Hymns for the Hopeless, Animals in the Dark and Field Songs, as well as songs such as “Hell or High Water” and “Old Devils.” In 2011, he opened dates on Chris Cornell’s Songbook tour. He has also toured with Against Me! and Murder by Death, often performing solo with banjo or guitar in clubs and theatres.
