Xiu Xiu in Los Angeles

Xiu Xiu is an American experimental rock group formed in San Jose in 2002 by songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jamie Stewart. Its music draws on art rock, electronics, noise and post-punk; key releases include Knife Play, Fabulous Muscles, The Air Force and Dear God, I Hate Myself. “I Luv the Valley OH!” is among its best-known songs, while Xiu Xiu Plays the Music of Twin Peaks reworked Angelo Badalamenti’s music for the television series. In 2015, Xiu Xiu premiered its commissioned Twin Peaks program at the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane as part of the exhibition David Lynch: Between Two Worlds. The group subsequently recorded the project and presented it as a touring concert program built around music from Twin Peaks.
