About Yann Tiersen
Yann Tiersen is a French composer and multi-instrumentalist, born in Brest in 1970. His instrumental music draws on piano, violin, accordion, electric guitar and electronics. He is best known for the music used in Amélie, much of it taken from earlier albums including Rue des cascades and Le Phare, and for his score to Good Bye, Lenin!
Three 2002 concerts at Paris’s Cité de la Musique were captured on the live album C’était ici. On Tour later documented his 2006 band performances, while the EUSA concerts centered on solo piano and music shaped by recordings made on Ushant. He subsequently paired piano with modular electronics in performances of Kerber.
