Alcione in Belo Horizonte

Alcione is a Brazilian samba and MPB singer, born in 1947 in São Luís, Maranhão. Known by the nickname Marrom, she made her album debut with A Voz do Samba, which included “Não Deixe o Samba Morrer.” Her repertoire also includes “Você Me Vira a Cabeça (Me Tira do Sério),” “A Loba” and “Estranha Loucura.” The Montreux Jazz Festival was among the major international stages to host Alcione during her long concert career. She later performed at Rock in Rio, while the Alcione 50 Anos show celebrated five decades of professional work through songs drawn from across her catalogue.
