About Alan Cumming
Alan Cumming is a Scottish actor, singer and cabaret performer, born in Aberfeldy in 1965. He is known for playing the Emcee in Cabaret and Eli Gold in The Good Wife, while his recordings include I Bought a Blue Car Today and the live album Alan Cumming Sings Sappy Songs.
In 1998, he played the Emcee in the Broadway revival of Cabaret, earning a Tony Award for the performance. His one-man production of Macbeth reached the Ethel Barrymore Theatre in 2013, and he returned as the Emcee for the 2014 revival at Studio 54. He later developed Alan Cumming Sings Sappy Songs at Café Carlyle before taking the cabaret show to Carnegie Hall.
