About Albert Lee
Albert Lee is an English guitarist and singer, born in Herefordshire in 1943, whose work draws on country, rockabilly and rock and roll. Known for fast hybrid picking, he recorded and toured with Emmylou Harris, Eric Clapton and the Everly Brothers while also leading his own bands. His recording of “Country Boy,” included on the album Hiding, became his signature solo piece.
In 1976 he joined Emmylou Harris’s Hot Band, taking over the guitar role previously held by James Burton. He entered Eric Clapton’s touring band in 1978 and appears on Just One Night, recorded at Nippon Budokan in 1979. In 1983 he played the Everly Brothers’ reunion concert at the Royal Albert Hall, then spent more than two decades touring as guitarist and musical director for the Everly Brothers.
