Ana Bacalhau in Almada

Ana Bacalhau is a Portuguese singer best known as the lead vocalist of Deolinda, whose acoustic music draws on fado and Portuguese popular song. Her recordings with the group include “Parva que Sou” and “Um Contra o Outro.” She began her solo discography with the album Nome Próprio in 2017. Ana Bacalhau performed at WOMAD Charlton Park with Deolinda as the band took its repertoire to audiences outside Portugal. Her later stage work included Deixem o Pimba em Paz, a concert project with comedian Bruno Nogueira that recast Portuguese popular songs and reached Coliseu dos Recreios in Lisbon and Coliseu do Porto.
