His lo-fi acoustic folk and folk-punk songs address politics, relationships and everyday life. He is known for releasing albums on 1 December, his birthday, a tradition that began with Standing on a Chair; his songs include “M.D.M.Amazing” and “The War on War.” Beans on Toast first played Glastonbury Festival in 2007 and has returned many times.
