About Beans on Toast
Beans on Toast is the stage name of British folk singer-songwriter Jay McAllister, who comes from Braintree, Essex, and began performing under the name in 2005. His lo-fi acoustic folk and folk-punk songs address politics, relationships and everyday life. He is known for releasing albums on 1 December, his birthday, a tradition that began with Standing on a Chair; his songs include “M.D.M.Amazing” and “The War on War.”
Beans on Toast first played Glastonbury Festival in 2007 and has returned many times. Five years later, he opened for Frank Turner at Wembley Arena.
He has also performed at both Boomtown Fair and Beautiful Days.
