Carsie Blanton is an American singer-songwriter raised in Luray, Virginia, who writes folk-pop songs shaped by jazz and swing. Her catalog includes the albums Buck Up, Love & Rage and After the Revolution, as well as songs such as “Fishin’ With You” and “Shit List.” In 2011, she opened selected shows for Paul Simon. She subsequently opened on tour for The Wood Brothers at clubs and theatres across the United States.
The Burning Hell is a Canadian indie-folk band formed in Peterborough, Ontario, in 2006 around songwriter Mathias Kom. Deadpan storytelling and elements of anti-folk and indie rock run through albums including People, Public Library and Garbage Island, as well as the song “Fuck the Government, I Love You.” In 2012, the group played ten concerts in ten countries within 24 hours as a world-record attempt. The Burning Hell has otherwise toured extensively through clubs and small theatres in Canada, Britain and continental Europe; fellow Canadian songwriter Wax Mannequin joined the group for the ten-country undertaking.
