About Chastity Belt
Chastity Belt are an American indie-rock band formed in 2010 by students at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, and later based in Seattle. Their guitar-led post-punk is heard across the albums No Regerts, Time to Go Home, I Used to Spend So Much Time Alone and Chastity Belt; “Cool Slut,” “Time to Go Home” and “Different Now” are among their best-known songs.
Chastity Belt canceled the remaining dates of a 2017 tour while Julia Shapiro addressed health concerns, beginning a break from live work. The band returned to performing around its self-titled 2019 album and later recorded a full-band Tiny Desk Concert at NPR Music in Washington, D.C.
