About Dark Tranquillity
Dark Tranquillity are a Swedish melodic death metal band formed in Gothenburg in 1989. Their mix of harmonized guitars, keyboards, harsh vocals and clean singing helped establish the Gothenburg metal sound. The band are known for albums including The Gallery, Projector, Damage Done and Fiction, as well as songs such as “Punish My Heaven,” “ThereIn” and “Misery’s Crown.”
The band’s 2008 concert at the Rolling Stone club in Milan became the live film and album Where Death Is Most Alive, documenting the Fiction-era lineup in a club setting. In 2022, Dark Tranquillity returned to North America for a co-headlining tour with Kataklysm, supported by Nailed to Obscurity. Their festival history also includes performances at Wacken Open Air and Hellfest.
