Delain in Karlsruhe

Delain is a Dutch symphonic metal band founded in Zwolle in 2002 by keyboardist Martijn Westerholt, formerly of Within Temptation. The debut album Lucidity introduced the project through guest-heavy recordings, while April Rain and We Are the Others established songs including “April Rain” and “We Are the Others.” Charlotte Wessels fronted the band for much of that period; Diana Leah later became the vocalist and appeared on Dark Waters. In 2016, Delain marked a decade of recording with an anniversary concert at Paradiso in Amsterdam. The performance, featuring several musicians associated with the band's albums, was released as A Decade of Delain: Live at Paradiso. The Masters of Destiny tour followed in 2019, and the rebuilt lineup toured North America with Visions of Atlantis in 2023. Beyond their home country, Delain have performed at Wacken Open Air in Germany and Graspop Metal Meeting in Belgium.
