El Tri is a Mexican rock band led by frontman Alex Lora, formed in 1984 after the end of Three Souls in My Mind. Its blues-rooted rock en español is heard in songs including “Triste canción,” “Las piedras rodantes” and “Pobre soñador.” In 1996, El Tri recorded a performance for MTV Unplugged. In 2018, the band marked 50 years of the musical history that began with Three Souls in My Mind at a concert in Palacio de los Deportes.
El Gran Silencio is a Mexican band formed in Monterrey in 1992. The group plays cumbia-driven rock with ska, reggae, hip-hop and norteño, and is known for the albums Libres y Locos and Chúntaros Radio Poder, including the songs “Dormir Soñando” and “Chúntaro Style.” The band performed at the inaugural Vive Latino in Mexico City in 1998, the year Libres y Locos was released. Five years later, it performed at Coachella in Indio.
