Artist
Elephant Gym are a Taiwanese math-rock trio formed in Kaohsiung in 2012 by bassist KT Chang, guitarist Tell Chang and drummer Chia-Chin Tu. Their music is built around melodic lead bass, intricate guitar patterns and shifting rhythms, heard across the albums Angle, Underwater, Dreams and World. In 2019, Elephant Gym recorded an Audiotree Live session in Chicago during the touring cycle for Underwater. The performance documented their established concert format: Chang’s bass in the melodic foreground, interlocking guitar lines and live drums. They have also taken that trio setup on headline tours through Asia, North America and Europe. Their festival appearances include Fuji Rock Festival in Niigata and a 2024 performance at Coachella in Indio.
