About Emperor
Emperor are a Norwegian black metal band formed in Notodden in 1991. Their music combines rapid, abrasive guitar work with keyboards and expansive arrangements, heard on albums including In the Nightside Eclipse and Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk. “I Am the Black Wizards” and “Inno a Satana” are among their signature songs.
Emperor ended their original run in 2001, then reunited for the Inferno Metal Festival in Oslo and an appearance at Wacken Open Air in 2006. In 2014, the band marked the anniversary of In the Nightside Eclipse by performing the album in full at selected concerts, including Bloodstock Open Air.
