About envy
envy is a Japanese post-hardcore band formed in Tokyo in 1992. The group’s music moves between screamo, melodic hardcore and post-rock, pairing harsh vocals with spoken passages and extended instrumental sections. Key albums include All the Footprints You’ve Ever Left and the Fear Expecting Ahead, A Dead Sinking Story and Insomniac Doze.
The band has toured extensively outside Japan, including repeated trips through Europe and North America. Its festival appearances have included Fuji Rock Festival and Tilburg’s Roadburn Festival.
