Freddie Jackson is an American R&B and soul singer born in Harlem, New York. He became closely associated with the quiet-storm sound through his 1985 debut album, Rock Me Tonight, and songs including “You Are My Lady,” “Jam Tonight” and “Have You Ever Loved Somebody.” Freddie Jackson toured as a backing vocalist for Melba Moore before establishing his solo career. Following the release of Rock Me Tonight, he moved into headline performances built around his ballads and mid-tempo R&B catalog, and he has also appeared at Harlem’s Apollo Theater.
