About Gamma Ray
Gamma Ray are a German power-metal band formed in Hamburg in 1989 by singer and guitarist Kai Hansen after his departure from Helloween. Their fast, melodic heavy metal is represented by albums including Land of the Free, Somewhere Out in Space and Power Plant, as well as songs such as “Rebellion in Dreamland” and “Send Me a Sign.”
The band’s 2006 concert at Le Medley in Montreal was filmed and recorded for Hell Yeah!!! The Awesome Foursome. Gamma Ray later toured with Helloween on Hellish Rock in 2007 and 2008, when Hansen joined his former group during the encore; both bands returned to the road together for Hellish Rock Part II in 2013.
