About Ginger Root
Ginger Root is an American indie-soul project created by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Cameron Lew in Southern California in 2017. Lew calls its mix of funk, city pop and indie pop “aggressive elevator soul.” Ginger Root is known for “Loretta” and releases including Rikki, Nisemono and Shinbangumi.
In 2022, Ginger Root took the Nisemono Tour through North American clubs. The project performed at Coachella in 2023, then brought Shinbangumi to clubs and theatres on SHINBANGUMI: The World Tour.
Ginger Root performs as a live band centered on Cameron Lew, who sings and moves between guitar and keyboards.
