Gondwana & Quique Neira in Guadalajara

Gondwana is a Chilean reggae band formed in 1987 in Santiago’s La Pincoya neighborhood. The group plays roots reggae in Spanish and became known through songs including “Sentimiento Original,” “Armonía de Amor,” “Antonia” and “Felicidad.” In 2003, the band performed at the Viña del Mar International Song Festival. Its later concert catalogue includes En Vivo en Buenos Aires, a live record built around Gondwana’s full-band performance in Buenos Aires.

Quique Neira is a Chilean reggae singer and songwriter known for his work with Bambú and as the lead vocalist of Gondwana before beginning a solo career. His recordings include the Gondwana songs “Sentimiento original” and “Armonía de amor,” while his solo catalogue includes “Cosas buenas” and the album Jah Rock. As Gondwana’s singer, Quique Neira performed at the Viña del Mar International Song Festival in 2003. His subsequent concerts have combined solo material with songs from his years in the group, and in 2012 he performed at Lollapalooza Chile in Santiago.
