Hilary Woods in Bristol

Hilary Woods is an Irish composer, singer and visual artist from Dublin who first became known as the bassist in JJ72. Her solo music draws on ambient electronics, drone, field recordings and sparse vocals; her albums include Colt, Birthmarks and Acts of Light. At Glastonbury Festival in 2000, she performed as part of JJ72, and the band later opened for U2 at Slane Castle in 2001. Her concerts under her own name use voice, keyboards and electronics, a format she has presented at Cafe OTO in London.
