Iron Lung in Amherst

Iron Lung is an American powerviolence duo formed in Reno, Nevada, in 1999 and later based in Seattle. Drummer Jensen Ward and guitarist Jon Kortland both provide vocals, building brief, abrasive songs around sudden tempo changes. Their principal albums include Life. Iron Lung. Death., Sexless // No Sex and White Glove Test. Iron Lung have taken their guitar-and-drums lineup through DIY venues and hardcore festivals in North America, Europe, Australia and Japan. In 2013, the duo performed at Roadburn Festival in Tilburg.

Dropdead is an American hardcore punk band formed in Providence, Rhode Island, in 1991. Their music draws on powerviolence, crust punk and d-beat, pairing very short, fast songs with lyrics about animal rights, war and state violence. “At the Cost of an Animal,” “Unjustified Murder” and “Bullshit Tradition” are among their best-known tracks. Dropdead have performed at Obscene Extreme in the Czech Republic and appeared at Roadburn Festival in Tilburg in 2016.
