About JACK Quartet
JACK Quartet is an American string quartet formed in 2005 by students at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester. The ensemble specializes in contemporary classical music, performing and commissioning works by composers including Iannis Xenakis, Helmut Lachenmann and John Luther Adams; its repertoire and recordings include Xenakis’s complete string quartets and Adams’s Everything That Rises.
JACK Quartet has presented contemporary programs at Carnegie Hall and Miller Theatre in New York, and at Wigmore Hall in London. Its festival appearances have included the Lucerne Festival and Donaueschinger Musiktage.
