Jake Blount in Saratoga Springs

Jake Blount is an American singer, banjo player, fiddler and scholar whose folk music foregrounds the Black and Indigenous roots of American string-band traditions. He is known for the album Spider Tales and the Afrofuturist concept record The New Faith, which reworks spirituals and traditional songs within a climate-change narrative. Jake Blount recorded an NPR Tiny Desk (home) concert featuring material from Spider Tales. Performances connected to The New Faith followed, while his wider stage history has included Newport Folk Festival and the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage in Washington, D.C.
