Joshua Redman in São Paulo

Joshua Redman is an American jazz saxophonist, born in Berkeley, California, in 1969. He won the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Saxophone Competition in 1991 and became known for post-bop and contemporary jazz recordings including Wish, MoodSwing and Elastic. A 1995 engagement at New York’s Village Vanguard was documented on Spirit of the Moment: Live at the Village Vanguard. He subsequently toured with acoustic and electric groups, including Elastic with Sam Yahel and Brian Blade. His ensemble work later extended to the cooperative quartet James Farm, formed with Aaron Parks, Matt Penman and Eric Harland.
