King Missile Tickets & 2026–2027 Tour Dates

King Missile is an American alternative-rock and spoken-word project formed in New York City in 1986 by poet John S. Hall. Its best-known song is “Detachable Penis” from the album Happy Hour; earlier recordings include “Jesus Was Way Cool” and the album Mystical Shit.

King Missile grew out of Hall’s appearances at New York poetry readings, where he began setting spoken pieces to music with guitarist Dogbowl. After the original incarnation ended, Hall formed a new touring lineup with Dave Rick, Chris Xefos and Roger Murdock for the Atlantic Records era of the early 1990s. He later performed as King Missile III, delivering his spoken texts with Bradford Reed and Sasha Forte.
