KOKIA is the stage name of Akiko Yoshida, a Japanese singer-songwriter born in Tokyo in 1976 who writes pop and folk songs around a classically trained voice. She debuted in 1998 and is known for “Arigatou...,” “The Power of Smile” and “Ai no Melody,” as well as music for anime and games, including “Follow the Nightingale” for Tales of Innocence. The VOICE 10th Anniversary Concert brought her to Tokyo International Forum in 2008. She followed it with the Infinity tour in 2009 and the Real World tour in 2010, performing in Japan and Europe, then marked 20 years since her debut with the Beyond Imagination concerts at Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall in 2018.
