La Grande Sophie in Caluire-et-Cuire

La Grande Sophie is the stage name of French singer-songwriter Sophie Huriaux, born in Thionville in 1969. She writes pop-rock and chanson, and is known for songs including “Du courage” and “On savait (devenir grand),” as well as the albums Et si c’était moi, Des vagues et des ruisseaux and La Place du fantôme. In the 1990s, she developed her live act in Paris bars, performing alone with guitar and a bass drum. She later toured with a full band and played French theatres and festivals, including Printemps de Bourges and Francofolies de La Rochelle. Her concert history also includes performances at the Olympia.
