Artists
Lake Street Dive is an American band formed in 2004 by students at the New England Conservatory in Boston. Led vocally by Rachael Price, the group plays soul-rooted pop and rock shaped by jazz, and is known for songs including “Bad Self Portrait,” “Good Kisser” and “Hypotheticals,” as well as the albums Side Pony, Free Yourself Up and Obviously. The 2011 concert album Live at the Lizard Lounge documents Lake Street Dive’s club-era set in Cambridge. The band later headlined the theatre-sized Radio City Music Hall in New York and returned for multiple amphitheatre concerts at Red Rocks outside Denver.
Mamas Gun are a British soul band formed in London in 2007 and led by singer, songwriter and guitarist Andy Platts. Their music draws on soul, funk, R&B and soft rock, heard on albums including Routes to Riches, The Life and Soul, Golden Days and Cure the Jones. “Pots of Gold” and “Red Cassette” are among their best-known songs. Tours supporting Beverley Knight and Raphael Saadiq helped take the band beyond UK club and theatre stages. Mamas Gun have also performed at Glastonbury Festival and WOMAD, presenting the songs as a full-band set led by Andy Platts.
