Las Cafeteras in Tucson

Las Cafeteras are an American band formed in East Los Angeles that plays folk rooted in son jarocho, with rock and hip-hop in its broader sound. The group is known for “La Bamba Rebelde” and “If I Was President,” as well as the albums It’s Time and Tastes Like L.A. Las Cafeteras have performed at the Hollywood Bowl and Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. Their full-band concerts feature vocals, jarana, requinto, percussion and zapateado performed on a tarima. They have also played Bonnaroo and WOMAD.
