Louis Matute is a Swiss guitarist and composer of Honduran heritage, born in Geneva in 1993. He plays melodic contemporary jazz informed by Latin American rhythms and folk traditions, and is known for the albums How Great This World Can Be, Our Folklore and Small Variations From The Previous Day. Louis Matute performs this repertoire with the Louis Matute Large Ensemble. The group has appeared at the Montreux Jazz Festival, while its French festival performances have included Jazz à Vienne and Jazz in Marciac.
