Artist
Lupillo Rivera is a Mexican-American singer, born in 1972 in La Barca, Jalisco, who performs regional Mexican music in the banda, corrido and ranchera traditions. Known as “El Toro del Corrido,” he built his catalog around recordings including “Despreciado,” “Sufriendo a Solas” and the album Tu Esclavo y Amo, which received the Grammy Award for Best Banda Album. He documented his stage repertoire on En Vivo Desde el Universal Amphitheatre, recorded at the Southern California venue. The concert recording presents corridos and rancheras in Lupillo Rivera’s banda-led live format.
