Montez de Durango is a Mexican-American duranguense band formed in Illinois in 1996 by José Luis Terrazas. Its fast, keyboard-led regional Mexican sound is heard on songs including “Lágrimas de Cristal,” “Espero” and “Adiós Amor Te Vas,” as well as the album De Durango a Chicago. En Vivo Desde Chicago documents the group’s concert repertoire in a full-band setting. Its stage sound is built around keyboards, saxophone, tambora and vocals, and the touring ensemble is led by founder José Luis Terrazas.
