About Marco Benevento
Marco Benevento is an American pianist, organist, singer and composer whose music draws on experimental jazz, psychedelic rock and pop. Born in 1977, he first became widely known through the improvisational Benevento/Russo Duo and later as a member of Joe Russo’s Almost Dead. His solo catalogue includes Invisible Baby, TigerFace, Swift and Let It Slide.
The three-disc Live at Tonic, released in 2007, documents his performances at the Manhattan club Tonic and features guests including Mike Gordon. He subsequently toured with his own keyboard-led trio, while maintaining his collaborative work. In 2013, he played the first Joe Russo’s Almost Dead concert at Brooklyn Bowl, beginning a long-running role in that band’s live lineup.
