Martin Tingvall in Oldenburg

Martin Tingvall is a Swedish jazz pianist and composer, born in 1974 and based in Hamburg. He is best known as the founder and principal composer of Tingvall Trio, formed in 2003 with bassist Omar Rodriguez Calvo and drummer Jürgen Spiegel. The group’s recordings include Skagerrak, Norr and Vägen, while his solo piano catalogue includes En Ny Dag, Distance and The Rocket. Live in Stockholm documented the trio’s concert format at the Fasching jazz club. Alongside the group’s touring, Martin Tingvall has presented his compositions in solo piano recitals, drawing on the quieter, more spacious arrangements of his solo records.
