About Massive Attack
Massive Attack are a British electronic group formed in Bristol in 1988. Their slow, bass-heavy music became closely associated with trip-hop, led by albums including Blue Lines, Protection and Mezzanine, and songs such as “Unfinished Sympathy,” “Teardrop” and “Angel.”
The Mezzanine XXI tour revisited the album in 2019 as an audiovisual concert, joined by Elizabeth Fraser for the songs she originally recorded with the group. In 2024, Massive Attack staged Act 1.5 at Clifton Downs in Bristol as a test of lower-carbon concert production.
The group headlined the Other Stage at Glastonbury Festival in 2008 and had previously performed at Coachella in 2006.
