Matmos Tickets & 2026–2027 Tour Dates

Matmos is an American experimental electronic duo formed in San Francisco in 1995 by Drew Daniel and M.C. Schmidt. Their music draws on musique concrète, glitch and electroacoustic composition, often turning recordings of physical processes into source material. The album A Chance to Cut Is a Chance to Cure uses sounds from medical procedures, while Ultimate Care II was constructed from recordings of a washing machine. The duo also contributed to Björk’s Vespertine.

On the 2001 Vespertine tour, Matmos performed as part of Björk’s ensemble, integrating sampled sound and live electronics into the concerts. That collaboration included the filmed performance in London later released as Live at Royal Opera House.
