About melvin seals and jgb
Melvin Seals and JGB is an American jam band led by Hammond B-3 organist Melvin Seals, who played in the Jerry Garcia Band between 1980 and 1995. The group performs improvisational rock, soul and R&B drawn from that songbook, including “Cats Under the Stars,” “Deal” and “Tore Up Over You.”
Seals toured extensively with the Jerry Garcia Band, including its 1991 concert at Madison Square Garden and a long series of engagements at The Warfield in San Francisco. Under the Melvin Seals and JGB name, he has carried the repertoire into theatres, clubs and jam-band festivals, including Peach Music Festival in Pennsylvania and Skull & Roses in Ventura.
