About One Way
One Way is an American funk and R&B group that emerged in Detroit in the late 1970s from Al Hudson & the Soul Partners. Led by singer and bassist Al Hudson, the group is known for “Cutie Pie” and “Mr. Groove,” released on the albums Who’s Foolin’ Who and Lady; singer Alicia Myers was part of its early lineup.
During the original release of “Cutie Pie,” One Way performed the song in its full-band format on Soul Train.
