About Patrice Rushen
Patrice Rushen is an American pianist, singer, songwriter and composer, born in Los Angeles in 1954. She began her recording career in jazz before turning to funk, soul and dance music on albums including Pizzazz and Straight from the Heart. Her best-known songs include “Haven’t You Heard,” “Forget Me Nots” and “Remind Me.”
Patrice Rushen performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival during her early recording career and later brought her band to the Java Jazz Festival. Her NPR Tiny Desk concert presented “Haven’t You Heard,” “Remind Me” and “Forget Me Nots” in a compact full-band set.
